Terms, and how to read the numbers
A short definition of every number in the product. GEO (Generative Engine Optimization): everything done so a brand appears in the answers of AI assistants.
How it works
- Prompt
- A question asked to the AI assistants. Prompts belong to topics; each is asked on the chosen platforms once a day (or once a week).
- Platform
- The assistant that answers: ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode, Perplexity. Google AI Overviews are measured with keywords, not prompts.
- Run (query)
- One prompt asked once on one platform. 100 prompts × 3 platforms = 300 runs a day.
- Analysis
- Which brands appear in each answer, in what order, in what tone and with which sources is extracted automatically. The numbers are counts, not opinions.
- When does data arrive?
- Collection is planned once a day; answers arrive within a few hours. Wait at least 7 days before comparing.
Main metrics
- AI Visibility Score
- The share of runs in the period in which your brand appeared in the answer. 40% = mentioned in 4 of every 10 answers.
- Share of voice
- Your share of all mentions of the tracked brands. You 30, competitors 70 → 30%.
- Your rank
- Where you stand when the tracked brands are ordered by visibility. #1 = most visible.
- Average AI position
- In the answers that mention you, the average position of your brand; lower is better.
- Sentiment score
- The tone of the sentences that mention you: 0 (negative) – 100 (positive); around 50 is neutral.
- Citation (source)
- The links an answer shows. Your own site, competitors and domain types (news, forum, social) are counted apart.
- Topic index
- Visibility within one topic and your rank among competitors in that topic.
- Change (Δ)
- Points vs the previous period of equal length. Hidden when the previous period lacks enough days.
The Google side
- Keyword
- Each topic may have a Google keyword, searched weekly. Your organic position and whether an AI Overview appeared are recorded.
- AI Overviews
- Google's AI summary above the results. «Cited» = your site is in its source list; «named» = your brand appears in its text.
- Results depth
- How many organic results a keyword check fetches (10 / 20 / 30). Positions beyond it count as not ranked.
Tracking types, personas, audiences
- Continuous tracking
- The brand is measured daily (or weekly) for months; trends build on it.
- Intensive analysis
- One-off: between two dates every prompt is asked several rounds a day, then stops. The margin of error follows the number of answers.
- Persona
- The situation, need and priority of the asker («a price-conscious buyer»). Assigned prompts are also asked with that context.
- Topic group and audience
- Measure the same need for different audiences separately: «Energy choice (athlete)», «Energy choice (health-minded)».
- Brand brief
- Free text about your brand; competitor, topic, prompt and persona suggestions are generated from it.
FAQ
- Why do the numbers move?
- AI answers differ a little every time. Look at 7–30 day averages; that is why intensive analysis asks several rounds a day.
- High visibility but low share of voice?
- Yes: you appear in most answers, but if many competitors appear next to you your share shrinks.
- Does history change when I add a competitor?
- Past answers are re-analysed, so the competitor's earlier mentions count too.
- Who can see my data?
- Only the members of your organization. A share link opens only that report and can be revoked any time.
